The Carmel Farmers Market has become one of the finest markets for fresh produce, meats, baked goods, and other prepared foods in the country. The Summer Market, held on Center Green, ringed by the Center for the Performing Arts, Carmel’s Veteran’s Memorial and the famed Monon Trail bikeway, is held on Saturday mornings from May through September. Last season it drew over 75,000 visitors to browse the offerings of sixty-four farmers, bakers, and other food artisans. In its sixteenth year, this free community event is held from 8:00 to 11:30. For more information, visit the Summer Market web site.
Now the volunteers of the Carmel Farmers Market Committee also produce and manage a Winter Market. Running each Saturday from the first weekend in November through mid-March, this Market is held in the fully enclosed underground parking garage at the Indiana Design Center.
While much smaller than the Summer Market, this event still offers a wide variety of fresh and prepared foods. Visit the Winter Market web site for more information.
