Joann Hofer, owner of Xchocol’Art, is a professional and award winning chocolatier. Her hand-made chocolate pieces require a long preparation process which is involved in every piece. Joann sources her main and most important ingredient carefully. On a recent trip to Ecuador, she was able to source a precious bean from a cooperative which ensures the farmers who supply cocoa get paid a fair price.  

Xchocol’Art was born from a natural curiosity, determination and a deep passion to create and experiment with high quality chocolate and locally sourced ingredients. Joann believes in always learning and discovering. She is grateful to have worked with chocolatiers who have both inspired and encouraged her.  

The Carmel Farmers Market provides a platform for many small businesses to get a start, and it has been pivotal in the growth and success of Xchocol’Art.
